Water Polo:
Swimming pools are used for much more than swimming! Water polo is a team water sport. It involved elements of swimming, football, basketball and rugby. It requires agility. The object of the game resembles that of football - to score as many goals as possible! Why not see if the game is played at your local pool?

Water Skiiing:
Water skiing is a surface water sport and recreational activity. Rivers, lakes, and sheltered bays are all popular for water skiing. You don't need to own a speed boat to take part! British Water Ski is the National Governing Body for water skiing in Great Britain. British Water Ski is responsible for the development of the sport; co-ordination of national and international competition; selection of National teams; training and registration of coaches and officials; and increasing the opportunities for participation in water skiing for everyone. Newcomers to the sport are actively encouraged and British Water Ski promotes good practice and safety and works to enhance and improve standards of coaching and driving. There is a highly active competition programmes in all divisions of the sport.

Weightlifting:
Weighlifting is an Olympic sport in which competitors attempt to lift heavy weights mounted on steel bars called barbells. This requires power, flexibility, and technique. Competitors compete in one of eight (seven for women) divisions determined by their body mass. Clubs always welcome beginners.

Windsurfing:
Windsurfing combines sailing and surfing no surprise there!  The board is known as a sailboard and is usually two to five meters long and powered by a single sail.A windsurfer is steered by the tilting and rotating of the mast and sail as well as tilting and 'carving' the board. Most people start with basic lessons, though you don't need to own expensive equipment.

UK Windsurfing works to promote the sport of windsurfing and organise events for all types of competitive windsurfer. The organisation encourages and supports the instruction and training of windsurfers, and in particular training for national and international racing.

Wrestling:
Wrestling is a martial art.

The term wrestling is an Old English word from before 1100 A.D. It is thought to be the  oldest word still in use in the English language to describe hand to hand combat. Physical techniques which embody the style of wrestling are clinching, holding, locking, and leverage. The British Wrestling Association provides lots of information on wrestling in Great Britain for everyone 'if you are a wrestler or just curious about what is possibly the oldest sport known to man'. Club and centres welcome new members.
