Dan Carins

Finance and Productivity Manager

Dan started his career in economic development in the Planning department at Sandwell Council following several years teaching English overseas. He moved to Walsall Council to develop specialisms in business finance before becoming the Access to Finance Manager at the Black Country Consortium in October 2014, and then managing the Black Country Growth Hub.

From July 2018 Dan has been focussing on policies and interventions to reduce the productivity gap between the average in the Black Country and the average in the UK. He reports to the Black Country LEP Competitiveness Board and is working with BEIS and local partners on the Local Industrial Strategy.

Favourite colour: Navy blue, which is a coincidence as I cheer for the Baggies.

Favourite film: Dead Man's Shoes by Shane Meadows.

Guilty pleasure: Reading the FT on a long train journey drinking fresh coffee and eating baklava whilst listening to Radio 3, but I'll take any of them on their own.
