Faith and Activity Co-ordinator

£23,000.00 to £25,000.00 per annum (dependent on experience)

Closing date: 21 February 2020

3 Year Fixed-Term Contract (from April 2020)

Scheduled Interview date: Monday 2nd March 2020.

Active Black Country (ABC) recognise that the physical activity workforce is broader than just clubs and coaches.  To tackle inactivity and truly enable behaviour change, we have to develop partnerships with organisations that have genuine reach into the most isolated members of our communities.  Faith centres, many of whom have both community spaces and an active interest in the health and wellbeing of their congregation, have been identified by ABC as the type of influential touchpoint that could enable us to increase our engagement with inactive people and transmit positive messages regarding physical activity.

With the above in mind, a funding opportunity has led to the creation of this exciting role, under the direction of the ABC Communities Local Partnership Lead, whereby a skilled individual will engage with a range of faith-based organisations and associated stakeholders to develop collaborative working relationships across the areas of Health and Wellbeing, Regeneration and Community.  The role will be used to help understand, inform and influence agendas to support the growth and development of physical activity and sport across Wolverhampton.  It will also be responsible for delivering and coordinating a funded programme for Active Black Country, exploring the potential of faith-based organisations to reach the most inactive disabled and non-disabled residents in Wolverhampton.
